new beer made from recycled water

Singapore's recently launched NEWBrew brand beer is made from sewage recycled from toilet flushing. The Singapore Water Authority worked with local brewers to first sterilize the sewage with ultraviolet light, and then use a state-of-the-art filter membrane to filter out harmful impurities.

The brewery's chief brewer said that as long as it passes through strict treatment methods, no matter where the water comes from, it can be turned into drinking water. After tasting NEWBrew, some consumers felt that the beer was refreshing and soft, and it was very suitable for drinking in a hot region such as Singapore, but some consumers still had resistance.
